About Sri Lanka Drone
Sri Lanka Drone is an independent English-language knowledge platform about drones in Sri Lanka. It exists to answer the questions people actually have, from whether a tourist can bring a drone through the airport to how the CAASL approval process works, with information grounded in official sources rather than rumour.
The platform covers drone rules, permits and registration, official maps, restricted areas, tourist requirements, commercial operations, technology, applications and the Sri Lankan drone industry. It is a knowledge resource only: it does not operate drones, provide services, issue permits or give legal advice.
Sri Lanka Drone is an independent information platform. It is not affiliated with the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka or any other government authority.
Sri Lanka Drone is developed as part of SriLankaX, a digital knowledge network building focused English-language resources about Sri Lanka.
Content is written by the Sri Lanka Drone Editorial Team. Regulatory pages record their official sources, responsible authority and last verified date, and the platform is building the reviewer infrastructure to add qualified local reviewers to key pages. How we work is documented in the editorial policy, and errors can be reported through the corrections page.
